Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address

1) Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

= 87년 전 우리의 선조들은 자유를 인식하고, 모든 사람이 평등하게 만들어 졌다는 주장에 헌신하여 새로운 나라를 이 대륙에 건국하셨습니다.

2) Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

= 현재 우리는 자유를 인식하고, 모든 사람이 평등하다라는 주장에 헌신하는 나라가 오래 지속될 수 있는지 시험을 하는 내전에 참여하고 있습니다. 우리는 내전의 격전지에서 만났습니다. 우리는 나라를 지속시키기 위하여 그들의 목숨을 받친 사람들의 최후의 안식처로써 이 땅을 바치려고 모였습니다. 우리가 행하는 이러한 행동은 적절하며 올바른 행동입니다.

3) But in a larger sense, we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow - this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget they did here.

= 그러나 더 큰 의미에서, 우리는  이 땅을 헌신할 수 없고,  축 성할 수 없으며, 신성시 할 수 없습니다. 이 곳에서 고군분투하신 생존자나 전사자가 되신 용감한 사람들이 우리의 미약한 힘을 보태거나 빼기전에 이미 이 땅을 신성화 하셨습니다. 세상은 주목하지 않을뿐만 아니라, 우리가 이곳에서 한 말을 오래 기억하지 않을지라도, 그들이 이곳에서 한 업적을 절대로 잊어버릴 수 없습니다.

4) It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain - that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom - and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

= 미완의 일을 더욱 고귀하게 진보시키기 위해 여기서 싸웠던 사람이 헌신했던 일들은 오히려 살아있는 우리가 해야되는 일들입니다. 이전의 남아있던 엄청난 업적에 헌신을 하기 위해 우리는 존재하고 있습니다. - 이러한 명예로운 죽음으로부터 그들이 마지막으로 신념을 다 바쳐 지키고자 한 대의를 위해 우리는 더욱 더 헌신합니다. - 우리는 여기에 이러한 죽음이 헛된 죽음이 아니라는 것을 굳게 다짐합니다. - 신의 가호 아래에서 이 나라는 새로운 자유의 탄생이 나타날 것이고 국민의, 국민에 의한, 국민을 향한 정부는 지구상에서 사라지지 않을 것입니다.

It is really hard to translate to Korean, especially the last paragraph (it is really one sentence....)

I heard that even though this address is quiet short, it is the most impressive address ever in the world. If Anyone is interested in watching this video, I recommend you Martin Luther King and Obama's address as well. Both of addresses are related to the "equality" (All men are created equal!)
