And this video is about learning languages in short terms. So if people are interested in learning languages, the way the he suggests will be helpful for them.

How can normal adults learn a NEW LANGUAGE quickly, easily, effectively?

When I was in France last semester as an exchange student,  I just searched for the different topic of video on Youtube and I just found this video by accident and it made me feel exciting. Because I am really interested in learning lots of languages and one of my main goals before 30years is 'Becoming a quad-lingual'. Also at that time, even though I was an exchange student in France, I could't speak French at all and I was learning French as my third language for the first time in my life. Moreover I feel totally same as Chris (I want to use french fluently as soon as possible), and I am trying to follow what he said even until now.

5 principles & 7 actions what people do to learn foreign languages

1) 5 principles

1. Focus on language content that is relevant to you.

- If you use the language frequently for your job or interests, it can make you more focusing on the language and make you fluently.

2. Use your new language as a tool to communicate from day 1 (Speak Everyday!)

3. When you first understand the message, you will unconsciously acquire the language

- Even though you don't understand the full meaning, if you catch a small piece by body language or anything else, you can acquire the meaning unconsciously.

4. Physiological training (Talking takes muscles)

- Don't become a language deaf!

(Need to use your muscles and make people understand your words)

- Language needs to be familiar with the learner!

(HEAR -> UNDERSTAND -> LEARNING)

5. Psycho-physical state matters (You must learn to tolerate ambiguity)

- Be comfortable getting something : Definitely you cannot be perfect at the first time!

- Paying attention to what you understand!

- Upset -> cannot be concentrated on the stuffs -> Nothing to learn

2) 7 actions

1. Listen a lot

- Don't matter whether you understand everything or not!

- Do brain soaking (try to hear the RHYTHM, INTONATION, STRESS, ...)

2. Focus on getting the meaning FIRST (before the words)

- Body Language

- Use patterns you already know

3. Start mixing

- 10 verb x 10 nouns x 10 adjectives = 1000 possible phrases!

- Try to remember the words step by step and mix it for making phrases

4. Focus on the core

5. Get a language parent (comprehensible input)

- There are some rules for "the Language parent"

  1) Works to understand what you are saying

  2) Does not correct your mistakes

  3) Confirms understanding by using correct language (Appropriate feedback)

  4) Uses word the learner knows (Use familiar words to make learner understand easily)

6. Copy the face (how to move their mouth)

- How to use the face (Learners must be considerably check the native's mouth)

- the sound will be different depending on their face using

7. Direct connect to mental images (Same box, different path)

- Image > Sound or text only (Internal representation)
